Use of information.
You can visit our websites without having to provide any personal information as a matter of principle. Only impersonal usage data such as your IP address, the last page you visited, the browser you use, the date and time, etc. will be analysed anonymously for the purposes of identifying trends and improving our online services (“Google Analytics”, WebTrends On Demand”, “AT Internet”). They will not be used to identify who you are.
In certain areas, we will ask you to provide data on a voluntary basis for the purposes of improving service quality (e.g. your name, address, telephone number, email address, what sorts of information and services you are interested in, etc.).
Access to CLARA website is measured and analysed by our team. You will have to provide your data when ordering online or purchasing certain products and services.
Non-disclosure of personal information.
Your personal data will not be sold or shared with third parties outside of CLARA. Exceptions: External service providers who process your request or order on our behalf and who handle the data required to do so, and other licensed railway companies in Switzerland. We guarantee that all recipients of your data adhere to data protection and data security requirements.
We use so-called cookies in certain cases. You can set up your browser so that a warning appears on your screen before a cookie is saved. You can also opt out of the benefits of personalised cookies, which will mean you cannot use certain services.
Advertising and data protection.
We use third-party providers (ad servers) to place advertisements on our websites and in our apps. In order to help them place advertisements about products and services that are interesting and relevant to you, we might use location data and approximate GPS coordinates. This information is never transmitted to the advertising customers and is used only to determine which ads should be displayed and when. CLARA will only send you e-mails or e-newsletters with your consent and you can unsubscribe from these notifications at any time.
CLARA can analyse your clicking and reading behaviour to ensure that the offers in these e-mails are ideally tailored to your needs. If you also have an account on CLARA for which you use the same e-mail address, you can use the user information stored there (surname, first name, gender, postal address, date of birth) to supplement/edit your CLARA Newsletter profile.
Please bear in mind that data transmitted in an unencrypted format could be read or modified by unauthorised third parties.
To continually improve the quality of its services, CLARA asks its customers to participate in electronic surveys. If you do not wish to participate in such surveys, you can opt out.
Forums and Chat.
You can participate in interactive forums like Chat, Message Board and other platforms on CLARA or CLARA’s other online services. Please bear in mind that any information you disclose on these forums will be visible to the public.
Storing and safeguarding your data.
CLARA will take appropriate measures and use the necessary security technology to protect your data. It will be stored only for as long as is necessary for its purpose.
